How did you first get interested in digital art, and what inspired you to pursue it as a career?

When I became a mother, I made the conscious decision to take a break from my career in order to fully focus on raising my children. While it was a challenging and rewarding experience, I found myself yearning for a new challenge. It was during this time that I discovered my interest in cryptocurrency, and through my exploration of this fascinating technology, I became involved in the Web3 community

The Web3 community was a welcoming and supportive space, and I quickly found myself drawn into the world of decentralized finance, digital art, and blockchain technology. I began experimenting with selling my art and photography using cryptocurrency, and was amazed at how easy and accessible it was to do so.

Can you describe your creative process, from idea to finished artwork?

As an AI artist, my creative process involves a unique blend of human creativity and machine intelligence
It usually starts with an idea or concept that I want to explore through my art. I often draw inspiration from the natural world, technology, and the intersection between the two

Once I have a rough idea in mind, I begin to explore different algorithms and machine learning models that can help me bring that idea to life. I'll experiment with different parameters and tweak the settings until I achieve the desired effect

What tools and software do you use to create your digital artwork and what are your thoughts on the current trends in digital art/AI art?

Midjourney | NightCafe | Googel Colab | DALL• E | Motion Leap | Open Processing | Procreate | Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & Lightroom

How do you approach the business side of being a digital artist, such as marketing your work and finding clients?

Another trend in digital art that I find fascinating is the growing interest in NFTs or non-fungible tokens. These tokens allow artists to monetize their digital artwork and protect their intellectual property rights, which has traditionally been a challenge in the digital space

Overall, I believe that the current trends in digital art and AI art are incredibly exciting, and I look forward to seeing how they continue to evolve and shape the future of art

Who are some other digital artists that inspire you, and why?

I'd like to share some of the current digital artists who inspire me, including:

@NeoSutras
@leilapintonyc
@diego_mac_arena
@HICeeCee
@MoonlightCiara

Each of these artists uses a unique blend of traditional and up-to-date technology and ideas to create stunning pieces of digital art. I find their work inspiring because of the way they push the boundaries of what's possible in the digital realm. Their creations are not only visually stunning but also thought-provoking and meaningful.

In short, each of these artists brings something unique and inspiring to the digital art world, and I'm grateful for the creativity and inspiration they provide.

Let's dive straight in.......

Mr Blue Jay

How do you stay up to date with technology and advancements in digital art?

As an active member of the NFT community, Vanessa has sold over 200 NFTs and invested 50% of profits into emerging artist projects. She has also donated 20% of her Genesis collection "Vans Discovers AI" to mental health organizations such as @MAPS and @NAMICommunicate

Vanessa has showcased her artwork at various art shows, including @SovereignNFTs Art Basel Miami 22 and @SuperchiefNFT gallery. Two of her pieces will be displayed at NFT NYC 23. Her artwork has also been featured by reputable institutions such as @MOCDA_, @KnownOrigin_io, @Ninfa_io, and @MecenateFineArt

As I continued to delve deeper into this world, I realized that my passion for cryptocurrency and the Web3 community had become a driving force in my career

I was inspired by the potential of this technology to revolutionize the way we think about money, art, and ownership, and I knew that I wanted to be a part of this movement

Today, I am proud to say that I am an active member of the Web3 community, and that my art and photography continue to be a part of this vibrant and exciting ecosystem.

While motherhood will always be my first priority, I am grateful for the opportunity to pursue my passions and explore new avenues of creativity and innovation

Once I have generated the base image using AI, I then use my own artistic intuition and editing skills to refine and finalize the artwork. This might involve adjusting the color palette, composition, or adding additional layers to the image to create depth and complexity

As a photographer and event planner, my creative process may differ slightly. For photography, I often start with a specific location or subject matter in mind and work to capture the essence of that place or object through my lens. For event planning, I draw on my experience and imagination to create immersive and engaging experiences for attendees

Overall, my creative process is a constantly evolving and collaborative effort between myself and the machine learning algorithms that I work with. I strive to strike a balance between human creativity and the power of artificial intelligence, resulting in unique and compelling works of art, photography, and events

I must say that I am thrilled with the current trends in digital art and AI art. It's exciting to see how technology is rapidly changing the way we create and experience art.

One of the most significant developments in digital art is the use of AI, which allows us to explore new creative avenues and push the boundaries of traditional art forms. With AI, we can create art that is interactive, dynamic, and even responsive to its environment and viewers

I believe that one of the biggest challenges facing digital artists today is the constant evolution of technology

While it has made art creation more accessible and efficient, it also means that digital artists need to stay up-to-date with the latest software, hardware, and tools to remain relevant and competitive

Another challenge is the saturation of the market with digital content. With the rise of social media platforms and online marketplaces, it can be difficult for digital artists to stand out and get noticed in a sea of similar works

Furthermore, there is the issue of copyright and intellectual property rights in the digital realm. As digital art can be easily replicated and distributed, it is essential for digital artists to protect their work and ensure that they are fairly compensated for their creations

Overall, while the digital age has opened up exciting new opportunities for artists, it has also brought its own set of unique challenges that must be navigated in order to succeed

What do you consider to be the biggest challenge facing digital artists today

I understand the importance of keeping up with the latest technological advancements in my field.

To stay up-to-date, I make sure to keep a keen eye on industry trends and developments. This involves attending conferences, participating in online forums, and networking with other artists and technologists in my field.

Furthermore, I am always learning and pushing the boundaries of what is possible with technology. By constantly experimenting and exploring new approaches, I am able to stay at the forefront of my field and create innovative and captivating works of digital art.

I believe that the business side of my work is just as important as the creative side. In order to market my work and find clients, I use various platforms such as Twitter and Instagram to promote my artwork. I make sure to keep my social media profiles updated with new pieces, behind-the-scenes glimpses into my creative process, and information about upcoming shows or events.

In addition to social media, I also make use of Twitter Spaces as a tool to share my art with potential clients and collaborators. This has been a great way to connect with other artists and showcase my work in a more interactive setting.

I am always on the lookout for galleries that have open calls for artists, both in the real world and online. This provides me with opportunities to showcase my work to a wider audience and potentially connect with new clients or collectors.

Networking is also an important part of the business side of being a digital artist. I curate and plan showcases with other artists in order to build relationships with collectors and curators, as well as to gain exposure for my own work.

Overall, I approach the business side of being a digital artist with a proactive and strategic mindset. By staying active on social media, participating in galleries open calls, and networking with other artists and industry professionals, I am able to effectively market my work and find new clients.

And Finally ......What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out

I believe the most important thing for anyone starting out is to experiment and practice as much as possible. Digital art is an ever-evolving medium, and there are always new techniques, technologies, and tools to learn and experiment with.

Additionally, it's important to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field. As I mentioned, learning new technologies like AI and NFTs can be incredibly beneficial, as they can open up new creative possibilities and avenues for sharing and selling your work.

Another important aspect of digital art is finding your own unique voice and style. Don't be afraid to experiment with different techniques and approaches until you find what resonates with you. And always remember to stay true to yourself and your vision, even as you continue to grow and evolve as an artist.

Finally, I would encourage anyone starting out in digital art to connect with other artists in the community. Whether it's through online forums, social media, or local art events, building relationships with other artists can be a great source of inspiration, feedback, and support as you navigate your creative journey.
